All Hail Blithe Spirits... and blithe wines too!

Postby Griffin on Fri Sep 19, 2008 6:55 pm

I yam the Griffin from Britain or Fair Albion as it's called when I have been at the mead again. I like cooking, but don't do as much as possibly I ought to. I am principally a writer of tales and suchlike and in league with my good friend the Snapper aka Madame Shawshank of Penrith in Australia.

I am here due to the invitation by the Mighty Purple Goddess... and the spirit of Discovery... which usually gets me into trouble if I'm lucky.

Good point dixiebelle... (sister of the less famous tinkerbell?)

I'm not a beer drinker, so I forgot it, but hey, have one on me!... hangs head in shame... then has small snifter of whiskey and forgets what shame is... along with a lot of other things... sigh!

LOL

Tonight I had a glass or two, or very eco-friendly Banrock Station White Shiraz... I, too, have managed to forget some things, BUT not what a hangover is... something I will remember tomorrow morning, and beget those two glasses I had!

Yeah, once 35 had hit me, I was the same. No more resilience like wot I used to have. Only the sound of braincells dying out... tho' on the good side they went ready pickled.

Ah, well, I still have 35 ahead of me, but if you count my time in the sun as a Surf Club youth, my partying teenage ways, and my dangerous overseas travelling adventures, I think my body is probably an old granny in a nursing home by now! Yes, pickled, not stirred.

Hi Griffin, welcome. I wonder, are you related to Griffin Noname from the HOT? If not, no problem, just a coincidence with the names and country of origin.

Hi Bluenose,

No, I'm not the same Griffin. My Griffin came from a love of mythical beasts ( I have a deep love of myths, legends and folktales... not to mention faerie-lore).

I haven't heard of the HOT... or Griffin Noname either! I clearly need more educating. All this booze isn't helping...

LOL! Well, no harm done, I did not really think you were the same person, but some of what you said was said in a similar way to Grifin NoName, probably just me reading too much between the lines. In any case, there is no reason why I cannot know two people called Griffin, is there, after all, I know plenty of Peters and Carmels, to name but two... ;)

BTW the HOT is the Honorable Order of the Toadfish, not really related to SOLE food, although many of the members there would be well disposed to the idea.

Anyway, must go and do some work (yuk). Seeya!
