Dixiebelle - So glad to find fellow Ethicureans!!

Hi all,

I was given the link by Zoe (of Progressive Dinner Party fame!) as she had seen my latest blogging about SOLE food! http://eatatdixiebelles.blogspot.com/se ... Ethicurean Thank you Zoe!!! (Your blog was suggested to me in a recent thread on RiotACT too!)

I am from ACT, recently moved here, and enjoying a new climate and great family friendly area, as well as the better eco-food options, esp. Organic Express. My DH and I have a 3 year old DD, and a 6 mth old DS. I have always been into food and cooking, as well as other crafty/ home stuff, like sewing, gardening etc.... you could say we are the 'greenies' in our circle of friends, but certainly not as green as some people out there. Eco-eating & cooking have been the main agenda for me lately, but recently, started considering ethics too...

We have been eating less meat, trying to be locavores and generally trying to live as 'green' as we possibly can for the last couple of years (on and off, due to budget/ kids etc.) I have recently (finally) started reading The Ethics of What We Eat by Peter Singer and Jim Mason (2006), and doing some research on the internet. That is how I came across the term 'ethicurean' and SOLE food...

So, I am very excited to meet some like-minded people! Though I don't need any more encouragement to be on my laptop, but am looking forward to reading all the sections... :D

BTW, as you can see, I am the "tell us alot about yourself" type poster! DB
