Easy Turkish bread.

Mix 250g of Self Raising flour and 200g of natural yoghurt. knead until elastic. Place in a bowl, cover and allow to sit for 30 mins.

Divide into rounds, roll out until 3-4mm thick and dry fry in a cast iron pan, or on a BBQ grill.

THAT'S IT!!

Way cheaper and way nicer than the bought stuff!!

Aaaand...

What I do is roll them out to about dinner plate size, fill them with leftover curry and brown them in a cast iron pan.. kinda like funky fusion turkish meets indian meets Cornish pastie!

But that's kinda how I roll!

I can vouch for this one.

Not only that, I passed it onto my dad as a "naan bread" option with above pizza/pide explanation also. he love it and now he's passed it on to an acquaintance that runs a little eatery that now swears by it, especially when feeding the young kids as a quick meal.

I don't know where you got it originally PG but it's magic!

Sole Mama got me cooking!!!

Woo Hoo!!

I made this bread. I made good use of my heavy pan.

They turned out well and my boys munched them down.

Next time I shall fill them with left over curry, or blanched spinach and fetta, or cheese and crushed garlic and herbs.

WINNER!!

pretty awesome, hey??

And flour and yoghurt are staples in the fridge at The House of Fur and Poiple Lerve, so we don't even have to go out and buy pide any more..

Try them done on the barbie plate.. or as a base for pizza dough, as well.

Truly my FAVE recipe!
