My name is shannon aka shannimae dumpling or dystibelle if you would like. I live in the northeast of the usa in the tiny little state of vermont with my teen son, 2 dogs, 3 cats and manfriend whom I call Fish. LIving in a rural land makes it easy for me to get fresh produce- unfortunately it is a cold rural land which drastically curtails our growing season. I am lucky enough to have numerous farmer market's during the summertime (although a few winter markets are popping up over the past few years) and I also subscribe to a csa farm and actually just picked up my last week of the summer veg this week. I try to shop local as much as possible, but I am also on a strict budget and do shop the dented can stores (I allow myself to buy product there that I would normally shy away from because I consider the dented cans to be lost and wayward souls in need of a hungry belly
